Progress & habits
Progress photos
How photo collection works, comparison modes, the timeline, and how photos are kept private.
Photos are collected as part of the check-in, so you never chase them separately.
Collection
Turn Include photos on for a template and clients get photo slots in the submission flow: up to 6 per check-in - front, side, back, and three custom slots, one photo per slot. Upload is drag-and-drop or tap-to-select, with per-slot progress and cancel.
Photos are compressed on the client's device before upload (resized to a maximum of 1600px and re-encoded), so gym-WiFi uploads work and nobody needs to resize anything manually. Location metadata (EXIF) is stripped in the same step.
Comparison
Inside check-in review, this week's photos sit beside any previous check-in's - not just last week's. Three modes:
- Side-by-side - the classic
- Slider - drag a divider across overlaid photos
- Fade - cross-fade between weeks
Comparisons always load full-size images, never thumbnails, and support zoom.
The timeline
Every client has a chronological photo timeline on their profile (and clients see their own under Progress). A 16-week prep scrolls past in seconds - useful for reviews and, with the client's permission, before-and-afters.
Privacy
Progress photos are sensitive, and the storage design treats them that way:
- Stored in private cloud storage - there are no public URLs
- Served only via short-lived signed links that expire (upload links in minutes, viewing links within the hour)
- Visible to exactly two people: the client and you
If a client asks whether their photos could leak from a shared link - the honest answer is that no shareable permanent link exists.
